Walk+Talk+Talk (Frédéric Gies and Sandra Noeth)

Walk+Talk+Talk consists of the lecture performance Walk+Talk followed by a converstation between Frédéric Gies and Sandra Noeth. Walk+Talk is a lecture performance format initiated by Philipp Gehmacher, who invites choreographers to create a solo work that makes the moving and talking run parallel. The topic is the artists’ concepts, the individual understanding of their body-in-motion and the history of their practice. Frédéric Gies presents his latest version of this lecture performance, which he created in June 2017 at Art Stations Foundation in the frame of Malta Festival in Poznán. Both in his dance and in his speech, he pays tribute to dancers whom he encountered on stage, in the dance studio or on the dance floor, and whom insistently inhabit his dance. The lecture performance is followed by a conversation with the writer, researcher and curator Sandra Noeth, in which key concepts in Frédéric Gies’ research, such as un-writing, will be discussed.
